About

The Pa Biathlon Club was founded in 1995 as part of the US Biathlon Association’s Summer Biathlon Program. PABC promotes biathlon as a safe, fun. lifetime sport for all since it combines running and safe firearm use and marksmanship skills. The club provides instruction, training, biathlon rifles and competitive events for novice and experienced biathletes.

Membership is open to anyone interested in the sport. A newsletter, website, and Facebook page keeps members up to date. The PABC welcomes and needs volunteers. Spectators will find the events enjoyable as well.

A brief look at the history of the club shows a start at the Nescopeck Gun Club, Nescopeck, PA. The club soon purchased rifles and targets while adding summer races in Altoona and Oil Creek State Park. Moving to the only regulation biathlon range in PA at the Whitetail Preserve near Sugarloaf, PA, the club hosted the Summer National Championships. Since its inception, PA Summer Biathlon members have become leaders in the sport. Individuals have excelled in competition throughout the USA and in international events.
